A Rainy Day

She looked beyond the window pane,

To see the birds at their fleeting games,

The ivory bark damp with rain,

The red-nosed children dripping little frames,

The tousled puddles never to be left the same,

To hear the constant tapping rain,

The wind chimes dancing to the music they played,

The clouds humming and mumbling to the tunes that were made,

The leaves shuffling, ruffling every which way,

Watching and Listening to all that God made.

Lovely Spring

Swirling winds and fogging trees,
Barren fields, barring dreams of
Flourished greens and misting streams,
Fluttering meadows and chirping birds,
Checkered blankets upon the grass,
Fresh strawberries dripping down my lap,
Sweet lemons and crunchy watermelons,
Penny rain with no refrain,
Tiny buds and buzzing bees,
The earth alive, dancing free
Life beyond my wildest dreams,
The long awaited Season of
Spring

Go:61

This is a poem I wrote for the organization Go:61, based off of of the verse Isaiah 61. Go:61 is a nonprofit organization against modern day slavery and human trafficking.

From the ashes you made life,
From the grave you came alive,
You have conquered every strife,
And even with all my pride,
You held me up before your life,
Crying blood all for me,
So that I could be set free,
We must take the next step,
We can’t stop at your last breath,
Everything that you have done,
Must always carry on,
For I hear the captives every plea,
Crying to God,
“Come save me!”
I see the women trapped in lies,
Wanting her soul to come alive,
I feel the gripping hearts inside,
Broken with fear,
Trying to hide,
We can shine your loving light,
Into each and every dark, lost life,
We can do amazing things,
Through you who give so many dreams.

A Treasure, A Pleasure

A secret, mysterious, Treasure.
That fills one with a deep, unspoken Pleasure.
Coming to surface what cannot be Measured.

Am I empty or full?
It is something so unknown.
The emptiness consumes.
The fullness blinds.
The pain is stripping my soul inside.
The feelings are burning so high, but why?

Is it love or fate?
I cannot contemplate.
So vast and high are the feelings I cannot hide.
They burst from within like the sunrise on the tide
Or the moon's bright shadow deep at night.

Beautiful yet daunting
What may surprise
What lies before my tear spent eyes.
Something awaits my adventurous mind,
Undreamed, Unheard
From the ears of the wise.

Soon it comes
Just as a wave crashes from behind,
Unseen, Unreal
For no one know what truly lies.
That's what makes it a surprise,
A Treasure, A Pleasure
That will soon arrive.

Sunrise Bay

The constant changing colors of the sunrise on the bay was truly a work of God!

Cloudy Beach

The clouds at the beach on our last day in California were magnificent!

Road Trip

I went on a road trip with my mom to California and we had to stop to take pictures of the sunset.  Also the mountains were so majestic, such a good time it was!
