Spring's Little Surprises

Hello!  I'm very sorry for the long two year wait, life's been busy leaving me with no writing time.  But I'm back at it with another poem inspired by the beautiful spring weather we are experiencing here in Missouri.  I hope you enjoy this little tidbit.

Spring's Little Surprises

Delicate petals that birth from the sturdy trunk
Scrolls of bark that freely unravel young wood
Rays of gold that gently light the cheek with warmth
Peeking greens that path the dampened earth

Gentle winds that graze the water's rippled surface
Colors displayed across the past season’s neutral tones
Subtle chirps that harmonize with distant song
Patient eyes watching the uniquely patterned growth
